Where a growing community can come together and worship

Church History
With many residents and property owners agreeing on the need for a church in the Wildwood community, the initial service was held in Wildwood's Activities Building, now known as The Lodge, on Sunday, December 6, 1970. Rev. J. P. Owens, District Missionary for the New Bethel Association, lead in the formation and recognition of the new project. After an organizational meeting on Sunday, January 10, 1971, Wildwood Baptist Church became a reality. On that day, forty four Baptist began the membership of Wildwood Baptist Church, and a building program was launched.

The Wildwood Baptist Church continued meeting in the Activities Building. The Wildwood Association donated the land for the new church. By April 1971, a Charter of Incorporation had been received; a lot had been selected, cleared and readied for a new building; the "Kick-Off" Building Drive Rally held; and the Rev. J. P. Stockman of Silsbee, Texas had been employed as Interim Pastor. A ground breaking ceremony for the new Wildwood Baptist Church building was held on Sunday, August 15, 1971.

For the past forty years, God has continued to bless Wildwood Baptist Church in many ways. January 13, 2008 was another great day for our church as we broke ground for a new Family Life Center.  By God's grace, this project has been completed and free of debt. Wildwood Baptist Church will continue to grow for the glory of God.
The mitchell family life center
On August 14, 2011, we celebrated the completion of our new Family Life Center and dedicated it to God and to the growing of His kingdom.  The groundbreaking for the new building was held on the beautiful Sunday morning of January 13, 2008.  To God's glory, it was with the help and contributions of many men and women that the building was completed in 3 1/2 years with no debt.  The building has been named "The Mitchell Family Life Center" in honor of Bro. Don and Wanda Mitchell who have served the Lord faithfully for many years.
